First stop, the LA County Museum of Art for the King Tut exhibit - absolutely amazing, glad to get to see it early, I will definitely go again when it comes to the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia in 2007!
Unfortunately I couldn't take pix inside but I did get the excellent exhibition catalog and they had some really nice silver jewelry in the gift shop that followed me home as well. It was especially a treat to see the famous big limestone statue of Akhenaten up close and personal as well as one of the terra cotta faces of Nefertiti. Everywhere..the glint of gold, absolutely amazing stuff!
Then went next door to the main museum -
